Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information hacker.io collects when you use our email service, and how that information is used.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum information needed to operate your account:

  • Name and your @hacker.io email address
  • Account password (stored hashed, never in plain text)
  • Billing details, processed securely by our payment provider (Stripe) — we never store your card number

We do not scan the content of your emails, and we do not build advertising profiles from your inbox.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and operate your mailbox and webmail portal
  • To process your monthly subscription payment
  • To send essential account notices (billing, security, password resets)

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

3. Data Retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, your mailbox and personal data are deleted within 30 days.

4. Security

All mail traffic is encrypted in transit with TLS 1.3. Passwords are hashed and never stored or transmitted in plain text.

5. Third-Party Services

We use Stripe to process subscription payments. Stripe's own privacy policy governs how your payment information is handled.

6. Your Rights

You can update your account details from your webmail portal at any time, or request deletion of your account and data by contacting support.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or through the webmail portal.
